She takes her guests on a journey – both culinary and mental – and combines local heroes with global flavours. Inspired by the cycle of nature with regional ingredients, some of which she even grows herself. When greeting you, the top chef nonchalantly says she is going to cook something for a moment, and what follows is a delight for all the senses. Each course consists of two acts in which the individual components are prepared in different ways. Cornelia Fischer calls this “harbingers” and aims to get the palate in the right culinary mood for the next course. Mission accomplished, I would say. Her dishes are not only a visual delight, Cornelia knows her craft – it’s not for nothing that she was named Chef of the Year 2024 by the Schlemmeratlas.
“It feels good to be here again. ” ~ Cornelia Fischer
And because it’s best at home with friends and old acquaintances, she has brought two of them with her. Johannes Gahberger as restaurant manager and Marie Christin Baunach takes on the role of sommelier – both were also at Überfahrt in the past. This closes the circle and it all fits together quite well. The team, the food, the wines and the atmosphere. For the guest, too, it feels like being with good friends. Just a little nicer.
FINE, FAIR AND FUN DINING AT ITS BEST!
Guests can choose between two menus – one vegetarian and one with meat, but can also put together their own personalised à la carte menu as an alternative and pleasantly flexible option. Vincent Ludwig, Managing Director of the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, warmly welcomes the new additions: “It means a lot to me that both Marie Christin Baunach and Johannes Gahberger have found their way back to us and are part of the new team at the Überfahrt restaurant. We are proud of Cornelia Fischer and the magnetic effect around her and her new culinary concept”.

The Überfahrt has not only been revamped in culinary terms, the interior has been given a new look with calm, natural colours – a stylistic homage to the region. The service staff have also been given a new look, as none other than the renowned dirndl designer Kinga Mathe designed the clothing. Surprisingly traditional and refreshingly modern.
Frank Marrenbach, CEO of the Althoff Group, is also delighted with Cornelia Fischer’s return: “There was a great deal of curiosity about the new concept and we are delighted to be able to offer guests a top-class culinary experience here again.”
