The Cannstatter Volksfest, also known as the Cannstatter Wasen, has been attracting Stuttgart citizens and visitors alike for over 200 years. The 35-hectare grounds of the Neckarpark provide a perfect backdrop for this traditional yet modern festival. Over a period of 17 days, people of all ages flock to the Wasen to celebrate, relax and have a good time. The festival takes place on the banks of the Neckar River and revolves around the central fruit column, which serves as a historical symbol of the festival. Here, visitors can choose between over 330 marquees and 7 large beer tents where they celebrate. There are numerous attractions such as roller coasters, bumper cars, games for children and ghost trains that populate the festival grounds and provide fun and entertainment.
The seven beer tents, two wine halls, beer gardens and the wine village offer space for more than 35,000 people and invite you to linger. The Cannstatter Wasen as a venue can be easily reached by public transport from the main train station. The well-developed light rail system makes it easy to get to and from the festival, so visitors can enjoy a glass of beer or wine with peace of mind without having to worry about their way home.
