The Kupferkanne has a long history and has always been an important meeting place for Sylt guests. The beautiful coffee garden offers a fantastic view over the Wadden Sea and conveys a piece of that special charisma that people could not escape thousands of years ago.
Originally an artist’s studio, the Kupferkanne was converted into an artist’s restaurant in 1950. From here, the view stretched far over heath and mudflats. The interior of the old bunker, which houses the former studio and the current café, has been transformed into a labyrinth of cosiness. Winding corridors and narrow steps lead to enchanted grottoes, lit only by candlelight, creating a unique atmosphere. The Kupferkanne is therefore not only a place of enjoyment, but also a place where history, art and cosiness merge in a fascinating way.
