Fat Wine Bar

The green-tiled counter and the raw brick walls, partly painted white, give the room a unique charm. A wall that has preserved its traces of the last 120 years tells the story of the place. The reconstruction of Wilhelminian stucco elements by charcoal painting adds another style-defining element to the room. Video installations depicting excerpts from Technicolor, film noir and silent films add depth to the space.

The atmosphere in the fat wine bar varies depending on the day of the week. During the week, there is a relaxed atmosphere, where calm music and the enjoyment of wine are in the foreground. On weekends from 10 p.m., the atmosphere becomes more exuberant and cheerful. The name “fat” refers to the artistic personality of Joseph Beuys and his “fat corner” as well as to a term from the language of wine.
