The commitment to sustainability is reflected not only in the environmentally friendly edible spoons and drinking straws, but also in the Recup deposit cups and deposit jars. Another crucial factor in the company’s sustainability efforts is the short distance between the shop and the ice cream lab at Hauptstraße 33, where fresh ice cream is prepared for customers. The shortening of the transport route contributes to the reduction of the ecological footprint of the ice cream manufacturer Tegernsee.
The team guarantees customers that no emulsifiers, dyes or vegetable fats are used in the ice cream as a substitute for milk. Preservatives and flavour enhancers are also excluded from the entire range without exception. In the ice cream shop, the recipes of the ice cream varieties are presented openly and transparently, so that everyone is welcome to ask questions and find out about the production method.
The milk ice cream is made from organic hay milk from the Kreuth natural cheese dairy. Products for yoghurt and quark are also sourced from this regional supplier. The absence of dyes may be unusual for some ice cream lovers at first, because vanilla is naturally dark, lemon appears white in its natural form, and roasted pistachios are more gray than green. Nevertheless, the ice cream manufacturer would like to encourage everyone to enjoy the natural taste and be aware that the team is doing everything in its power to offer a product that is free of the often questionable additives that many people avoid, whether for allergy reasons, for their children or because they follow a vegan diet.
