Anne Schacht, born in Hamburg in 1983, has had a deep connection to dogs since her childhood. In 2010 she moved to Sylt and was enchanted by the beauty and charm of this island. There she also found her own dog, Wilma, in 2014, who came from Romania. Wilma was allowed to enjoy a fulfilled dog life on Sylt until the proud age of 15, and she became the face of the "island dog". During this time, Anne recognized the need on the island to provide a reliable and experienced dog walking service, as many dog owners needed assistance. This is how the idea for the "Island Dog" was born, a dog walking service that offers dog lovers on Sylt the opportunity to temporarily leave their four-legged friends in good hands.

Anne Schacht runs the “Island Dog” with dedication and knows the most beautiful walks on Sylt like the back of her hand. Every day, she leads her group of dogs through the island’s diverse landscapes, including dunes, forests and beaches. With up to ten dogs by her side, she attracts the attention of many people. The “Island Dog” offers its services to both locals and second home owners. Anne Schacht invests a lot of time and passion in her dog walking service and accompanies her dogs on their walks seven days a week, regardless of the weather conditions. Although the “island dog” is a side hustle for her, her devotion and love for the dogs is palpable.
