An outstanding feature of the Liebermann Villa is the voluntary commitment, which is carried out by 120 volunteers. They support the property with their services in the garden, as tour guides or in the museum shop. The architecture of the villa in the style of Hamburg classicism and the collection in the permanent exhibition are decisively enriched by numerous permanent loans, including Liebermann paintings from the National Gallery. Since the opening of the museum, the Nationalgalerie has continuously supported the museum with loans, and further loans from private collections as well as from German and international museums are presented for the changing special exhibitions. Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the house and garden on the terrace and in the former dining room of the Liebermann family during opening hours.
