The Kleinwalsertal is located on the northern edge of the Alps in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Even the location is special: even though it belongs to Austria, only one road leads via the neighbouring Bavarian town of Oberstdorf into the Kleinwalsertal. Not only is it easy to reach by car and without a vignette, but you can also take the Walser bus from Oberstdorf directly to the high mountain valley.
Finding inner balance in movement is possible in Kleinwalsertal in a very individual way and in a wide variety of ways. While some have discovered trail running for themselves, for others it is a sporty mountain tour or a via ferrata and for many it is wanderlust in its literal sense. The backdrop for unforgettable nature experiences are numerous peaks and a network of trails with 185 km of natural, marked hiking trails. They are spread over three altitudes between 1,000 and 2,500 m and lead through a varied landscape with forests, streams and species-rich alpine pastures. Here you will find a variety that delights connoisseurs as well as sporty mountaineers, via ferrata fans and families.
Nature is much more than the backdrop for unforgettable mountain experiences. With the initiative “Experience nature consciously”, the Kleinwalsertal focuses on the importance of nature for people and sets the course for a nature-friendly future of tourism. You can find out more about the project and, above all, the sensitive balance of the natural and cultural landscape as well as the biodiversity in the Kleinwalsertal on one of the guided tours that can be booked on www.kleinwalsertal.com .
