It has endured over a period of 244 years and has been honoured with various awards. As early as 1880, Carl Friedrich Haag, who worked in the fourth generation, was appointed purveyor to the royal court. He had the honour of supplying Queen Olga with a bitter almond soap, her favourite scent. When Carl Heinz Albert Haag died in 1999, the business had to be closed due to a lack of a successor. In 2013, Nicole Haag had the opportunity to revive series production in the seventh generation as part of a professional reorientation. Her husband Matthias Haag, a nephew of the last owner, actively supported her. “We produce everything regionally by hand in Stuttgart. We attach great importance to plastic-free sustainability and that every customer, if interested, can get in touch with our suppliers. We are also happy to welcome visitors to our soap factory,” says Nicole Haag.

Hotel Asturias
One of my favorite hotels. A small, owner-managed hotel right on the coast in Asturias. Manolo, the owner, has renovated the old walls about as much as we did in the soap factory. That’s where the special connection comes from.
