Style-conscious men know that an exclusive watch is much more than a timepiece. It’s a fashion statement, an expression of character – but sometimes it’s also a lifesaver. With built-in lasers, winches or explosive surprises. Admittedly, only the Omega Seamaster models of the legendary secret agent James Bond possess the latter capabilities. But: On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the cinema franchise, passionate watch and Bond fans alike can rejoice, because the watch manufacturer honors the film character with an exclusive Seamaster Diver 300M with a diameter of 42 millimeters.
It combines the case aesthetics of the Seamaster from »Goldeneye« with the mesh strap from »No Time To Die«, without neglecting the familiar and appreciated wave structure on the oxal-coloured aluminium dial. Of course, and quite obviously, the Seamaster also retains its rotating bezel and helium valve. Quasi undercover, but the real protagonist: the glass case back, which recreates the famous opening sequence of 007 – with Bond as a silhouette and a spinning rifle barrel. This dynamic scene takes place under sapphire crystal decorated with a micro-textured metallization. The patent-pending animation of the moiré effect is linked to the running of the central lollipop second hand, framed by a graphic that echoes the iconic three dots from the opening sequence of the spy films.
The watch is powered by the tried-and-tested Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, which also resists magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss and offers automatic winding in both directions with its free hairspring balance with silicon balance spring. Is it all blockbuster-like? Wait until you see the blue, wavy presentation box. Because it not only picks up the circles of the film intro again – but also has a secret button. Where exactly?
