Perhaps wine, cuisine and language have only survived so long in Swabia because, in addition to creating and saving, these values are cultivated here like nowhere else. This is not only the prevailing opinion of the original Swabians, but also that of Rahman Arslan and Nikolaos Eich-Likidis. Rahman Arslan, who was born in Bietigheim, is just as self-confessed Swabian as Nikolaos Eich-Likidis from Esslingen. And as befits righteous Swabians, in addition to their penchant for good food and good wine, they also have a knack for good business. It is not the quantity, but the quality that decides whether it was a good or a bad vintage. Especially in the real estate industry, which they are helping to shape with their company Activ Bilanz Immobilien: As property developers and project developers with over 25 years of expertise, they are successfully active in the development and renovation of existing properties. For them, responsibly preserving and sustainably developing real estate is a key challenge for the future. Swabian virtues through and through.
You can usually meet us with customers or friends at the Sardine Feinkost & Bar. From vintage sardine from Brittany to small mussels from Galicia and hand-caught tuna, everything here revolves around the delicate canned fish. The specialties bring back memories of the last holiday. You drink a good wine and sit relaxed. At the sight of the extraordinarily designed tin cans, friends of good design feel happy.
“When I meet at Aria,” says Rahman Arslan, “I usually frown in disbelief. The Aria is still unknown, but when I explain that it is run by Giuseppe Zuccarelli from the Riva in the west and the Salve – everyone beams.” The restaurant on the ground floor of the Bülow Skyline Tower has become beautiful. Here, fresh food is cooked, the padre whirls around the tables and the wines are elegantly and fairly calculated.
“I like to go to Salvatore Marrazzo’s with my family,” enthuses Nikolaos Eich-Likidis. In the stylish rooms of a lovingly restored half-timbered house, you can enjoy real “cucina della nonna” in the Accanto semplicissimo restaurant, antipasti and pasta or risotto for a quick lunch as well as piadine and wines in a large selection.
When we go out in the evening, we usually go to the Jigger & Spoon. The location is always surprising. There’s arguably no better place to open a bar than a disused bank vault. That’s what makes the location unique.
In stylish lighting, the drinks sparkle with the guests. A great place for a well-groomed evening.
