The German economy justified the award for “Motivation Handwerk”: “This is how the future works: active cooperation across all sectors!”. And laudator Jörg Dittrich, President of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts, thanked the 5.6 million German skilled craftsmen for their outstanding commitment to the skilled crafts sector, as Hollywood star Ralf Moeller and Andreas Grewe, Hans Schäfer Workwear, are campaigning for young talent in the skilled crafts sector with the “Motivation Handwerk” initiative. With this purely philanthropic campaign, they want to combat the shortage of young talent and skilled labour in the skilled trades and thus help skilled trades companies to recruit more skilled workers and help society to continue to have good tradespeople. Social commitment is a tradition at the Franconian textile company Hans Schäfer Workwear, which is over 100 years old. In his time off from filming, the successful bodybuilder, actor, director and businessman has always dedicated his resources to various socio-political and social projects, such as PETA or the government initiative “Starke Typen” (Strong Guys) to support children and young people in socially deprived areas. Ralf Moeller’s father was a locksmith and welded his first dumbbells. And as a swimming champion, he also had to carry out various manual tasks. When Ralf heard about the huge shortage of skilled workers, he and Andreas Grewe had the idea to do something about it and they launched the “Motivation Handwerk” campaignin autumn 2023.
