The 54th edition will offer the 1,600 ball guests a fascinating show programme with sporting performances by sponsored top athletes on the eve of the Bundestag elections. The medallists of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris will be among the exclusive guests at the event. Karsten Petry, Sporthilfe Board Member responsible for Marketing, Sales and Events: “The athletes supported by Sporthilfe have inspired us with their fantastic performances and successes over the past year, particularly at the Games in Paris, and many have gone on to become role models. Sporthilfe and its partners are convinced that we need such role models in our society now more than ever. This is another reason why we are once again putting athletes centre stage at the Ball des Sports 2025.”
With the exclusive sports and show programme from Olympic and Paralympic sports, Sporthilfe is bringing the Paris Games back to life. The focus of the glamorous event on 22 February 2025 will be on trampolining and a colourful mix of para-sports: para-table tennis, sitting volleyball and wheelchair rugby will amaze the audience. The sports areas are elaborately integrated into the public area, so that guests can look forward not only to “top-class sport up close”, but also to a spectacular ambience. In addition, swimming legend Michael Groß will be honoured with the “Golden Sports Pyramid” for his life’s work at the 54th Ball des Sports. The Ball des Sports is therefore the most important event of the year for Sporthilfe, both financially and in terms of ideas. In order to facilitate and celebrate top international performances, the Sports Ball is Germany’s most important social platform, with which Sporthilfe brings together Germany’s best athletes with their partners and sponsors, with executives from the German economy and with celebrities from politics and society, and also offers them a media platform outside of the competitions. In this way, Sporthilfe emphasises its great appreciation of the athletes’ achievements.
Mercedes-Benz, national sponsor of Sporthilfe, will ensure that ball guests arrive in style at the red carpet with its exclusive chauffeur service. More than 150 companies are participating as sponsors and partners in the gala programme and the traditional raffle with prizes worth around 300,000 euros. Once again this year, Deutsche Bank, also a national sponsor of Sporthilfe, will be providing cashless payments.
