A touch of masterclass filled the opening evening when Thomas Bühner and Daniel Achilles presented their extraordinary culinary art: creative dishes such as the 360° loaf with hay milk butter, Gillardeau oysters with kimchi and pear and lukewarm salmon with apple revealed the diversity of UPSTAIRS cuisine. Prawns in a cinnamon-tomato broth, Bühner’s famous “Fluffy Duck” and his signature dish, foie gras cream with Coca-Cola jelly, set further accents, while pointed cabbage with ginger cream and venison in Christmas-night spices delighted meat lovers and vegetarian alternatives alike. Finally, sweet highlights such as the “Eat in Colour” chocolates and marinated pineapple with coconut foam spoiled the palates.
Casual fine dining in perfection
UPSTAIRS combines top-class cuisine with an informal ambience. Under the direction of renowned 3-star chef Thomas Bühner and supported by 2-star chef Daniel Achilles, an extraordinary gourmet experience is created. The dishes combine top regional products with international flavours and evoke memories of nature, special moments or childhood. For 129 euros, the UPSTAIRS menu offers a 3-course experience with five creative dishes. Additional highlights such as Imperial Selection caviar, truffles or Kagoshima Wagyu beef extend the menu to up to ten dishes and make the evening unforgettable.
A winter highlight for gourmets in Munich
UPSTAIRS is open for dinner on Wednesdays and Thursdays and for lunch and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays until 16 March 2025. Due to limited capacity, reservations are recommended.
