The Kunstverein functions as a hub for open dialogue about the diverse methods and practices of contemporary art and their far-reaching references to society. It provides a platform for exhibitions, debates, art, theory, research and production to explore collective work and participatory approaches. In addition, it opens its doors to diverse communities and creates space for conversations, discussions, working groups, workshops or actions.
The Kunstverein is constantly renegotiating the relationships between art, artists, institutions, socio-political issues and the general public. In doing so, he draws on publications, materials and other infrastructures. As shared spaces, the Kunstverein’s premises are also available to local actors and groups for their own meetings, events and forms of expression. Unlike traditional art associations, however, this one does not have a collection.
