Elbphilharmonie Hamburg

In the middle of the port of Hamburg rises an impressive work of art that combines architecture, music and location in a unique way: the Elbphilharmonie. The wave-shaped glass structure that floats above the historic Kaispeicher has become an unmistakable landmark of the Hanseatic city. Since its opening, it has embodied the spirit of a musical city and stood for Hamburg’s cultural diversity.

The resounding heart of the Elbphilharmonie is the Great Hall, which impresses with its extraordinary acoustic concept. The music and the concert experience were at the forefront of the design, and this can be felt in every detail. The hall has been designed so that no one sits more than 30 meters away from the conductor to ensure optimal sound quality. The walls and ceilings are clad with special gypsum fibre boards that reflect sound in all directions, allowing for a crystal-clear listening experience. This makes the Great Hall a very special experience, both visually and in terms of sound.
