Founded in 1710 by Augustus the Strong, the manufactory today looks back on a treasure trove of products and a corporate heritage that is second to none, but at the same time also obligatory: MEISSEN is a German cultural asset and it must be lived in order to stay alive. Traditions must be adapted to the spirit of the times without denying or bending them. A balancing act that requires skill and will. And courage.
MEISSEN is proving this courage more than clearly, and in the summer of 2017 it appointed two fashion designers as creative minds. Since then, Jörg Ehrlich and Otto Drögsler from ODEEH have been responsible for the future orientation of the individual product worlds as well as for the visual representation of the brand in the newly created positions of Creative Directors at Manufaktur Meissen.
Otto Drögsler and Jörg Ehrlich have been working together as designers for various international brands for twenty years. In 2009, they founded the
ODEEH
brand, which stands for the rare atelier tradition in the fashion industry. With its opulent patterns and sensual designs, ODEEH is one of the few internationally positioned German labels and has recently successfully established itself on the market in the luxury segment of women’s fashion.
It is precisely this expertise, their holistic understanding of luxury products, that is now also coming into play at MEISSEN, because success in the fashion industry today means much more than just the creation of beautiful clothes: it requires a global strategy with communication and branding. Dreams need to be spread. The two designers have already shown that they have mastered this with their own brand – and are already showing it with new products and a very successful new visual appearance at MEISSEN.
