Jörg Walz is an automotive enthusiast through and through and has been working in companies related to the automobile for well over 10 years.

Almost four years ago, he took over as Head of Marketing Communications at MAHLE GmbH, before that he worked at Porsche AG as press spokesman for production, logistics, purchasing, and sustainability, in the acting publishing management of the magazine Christophorus and, among other things, as project manager for the Taycan’s plant opening, the development of sustainability communication, and much more. This was probably the logical continuation of his career as Vice President Communications & Marketing of the Schaeffler Automotive Group. His love for automobiles, especially Porsche models, is also evident in another passion. Jörg walz as a photo artist. In more than 100 strictly limited editions, he traces the rich and eventful history of the PORSCHE brand and its models as a photographer. To do this, he places various models around the globe and captures them with his iPhone in breathtaking scenery from a sporty perspective. Even imposing buildings such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the skyscrapers in New York’s Times Square look like miniatures compared to the 1:43 scale models. There are also numerous racing cars on display, such as those that have enjoyed success at Le Mans, the Nürburgring, the Targa Florio, the Paris-Dakar Rally and countless other motorsport events. Concept studies and the latest futuristic designs are not neglected either. And, of course, the PORSCHE 911 is honored as the epitome of the brand from very unique perspectives. The prints were made in Germany and are of the highest whitewall quality. Jörg Walz has hand-signed every print in the collection. These are professional photo prints on Alu-Dibond. https://www.joerg-walz-collection.com/

His professional career has taken him through many cities and countries, and he remembers these favorite places:

On his list of favourite places “Enrico’s” in South Africa’s Keurboomstrand should not be missing. The Italian-influenced, delicious seafood restaurant can look back on a development comparable to that of the Sansibar in the dunes of Sylt – from a simple snack bar to a veritable dining experience. What has remained is the fantastic location with breathtaking views of the extensive beach of the Indian Ocean and the casual informality. www.enricorestaurant.co.za

Of course, the good things are also so close: Practically around the corner, the Maier winery can be found in Schwaikheim. The fate of the family business is now in the hands of the younger generation. And she does her job admirably; with traditional hospitality typical of the winery. Thus, not only the farm’s own “broom” events have developed into after-work events with constantly changing live music in a young and creative way, but also the (in the truest sense of the word) award-winning wines. For example, the winery recently received the red wine prize from VINUM as well as the Young Winegrowers’ Awards from DLG and the Württemberg Winegrowers’ Association. Pinot Blanc is part of the repertoire of the BW State Representation in Berlin. www.maier-weingut.de

For wonderful mountain bike tours and extended hikes, the area around Baiersbronn has long since ceased to be an insider tip. But the trip to the Black Forest is definitely worth a trip. With the Traube Tonbach and the Hotel Restaurant Bareiss , two Michelin-starred kitchens have their home here. One of my favorite places is the Bareiss; and not because of the Michelin-starred restaurant, but because of the Gutssstube, where you can always find a cozy spot for a delicious dinner, even without weeks of advance reservation. www.bareiss.com

Since mid-July, there has been a new must-see for car enthusiasts: the entrepreneur Friedhelm Loh is opening up his vehicle collection, which he has lovingly assembled over three decades, and is also creating a university location. The name: National Car Museum – the Loh Collection. The collection truly makes hearts beat faster. The approximately 150 treasures on display have history and stories to tell. In terms of its quality, there is hardly anything comparable anywhere in the world. Location: Dietzhölztal-Ewersbach. This is located in the Lahn-Dill district, in the heart of Germany; and is definitely worth the trip. www.nationalesautomuseum.de

The car ride to the Île de Nourmoutier is also an experience. The route to the island, located in the west of France in the Pays-de-Loire region, leads via the Passage du Gois, a four-and-a-half-kilometre-long road that is only passable at low tide. The island is characterized by extensive salt marshes and beautiful coastal strips, which can be easily explored by bike on the approximately 20-kilometer-long island. Right on the beach on the east side of the island, the idyllic Huttopia campsite offers fantastic pitches for camper vans. www.europe.huttopia.com
