Since December 2003, the Tattenbach has been shining in new splendour. The Augustiner Brewery and its initiator, director Ferdinand Schmidt, have undergone a comprehensive renovation of the more than 100-year-old inn and revealed a fascinating secret. Hidden under a thick layer of black paint, a beautiful South Tyrolean-style wooden bas-relief carving was revealed. A real treasure that was hidden for decades. In addition, the numerous ceiling paintings were reconstructed in detail on the basis of old photographs.
Today, the Tattenbach is a modern, traditional meeting place for young and old, which combines history and tradition with contemporary conviviality. Thanks to its attractive location in picturesque Lehel, the Tattenbach in Munich attracts not only regular guests and neighbours, but also tourists and the curious. Here, guests can enjoy hearty Bavarian specialties such as crusty roast pork and the famous giant schnitzel, as well as current international dishes.
