In a side street of the Leonhardsviertel hides an illuminated wooden sign with the inscription Paul & George. Paul & George were the architects of the former inn in Weberstraße. Anyone entering the brick building is greeted by several bartenders in white shirts and black suspenders. The dark wood, brick walls, and large counter are reminiscent of a stylish old whiskey bar in the UK. Outside the door, a dim red light shines, while inside, dark wood and brick walls create a nostalgic pub atmosphere. The journey through time can begin on Thonet chairs and copper tables: In the “Paul & George”, the bartenders are waiting for their friendly and casual assignment with a huge drinks menu.
While guests fight their way through the huge drinks menu for minutes, jazz music plays in the background and a waiter serves a glass of water. The menu includes highballs, craft beer and, above all, gin, to which an entire page is dedicated. If you scroll further, you will find on the page “How to build your personal longdrink” how to put together your own drink with your favorite spirits, where the waiters will be happy to help with recommendations. For example, there are olives as a snack. Smokers can retire next to the bar in a kind of courtyard decorated with fairy lights and candles.
Tipp der Redaktion:
We recommend the highball creation: Paul & George Mule – with vodka, ginger beer and lime.
