The existing room situation was characterized by restless room contours and low room heights. The design concept therefore organises the interior by means of a clear room zoning and a reduced material concept. Gutbrod’s architectural ideas were integrated into the new concept and continued: the butterfly supports were removed, the palace was opened to the “Kleiner Schlossplatz”. The design language is an expression of a sought-after timelessness, which is also followed by the gastronomic concept.
Two guest areas develop from the floor plan: the bistro to the outdoor terrace and the restaurant in the more introverted area. Wooden back walls and a uniform ceiling and light motif connect the room zones. The interior façades are designed as glazed light walls at their offsets. The bar connects the two parts of the room and also serves as a reception element. The characteristic material is the wooden walls made of fine walnut. In addition to the elegant furnishings, Romano Cardascia and Maurizio Estrano have become a Stuttgart institution with Mediterranean cuisine, wine and atmosphere in a well-kept, stylishly designed ambience.
