At Feines Weißes, a unique manufactory in Berlin, the fascinating world of handmade porcelain is revealed. Here, traditional craftsmanship meets modern aesthetics, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

In the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, in the pulsating Helmholtzkiez, is the shop and workshop of Feines Weisses. This manufactory is not only a place of creativity, but also of the production and sale of their handmade porcelain. The products – from discreet dinnerware to exquisite one-of-a-kind pieces – reflect the combination of aesthetics and functionality. A visit to the shop offers an authentic insight into the art of porcelain making.

Katy Jung, born in 1974 in Thuringia, is the creative heart behind Feines Weisses. Her artistic journey began with a journeyman’s apprenticeship as a wood sculptor, followed by studies at the Burg Giebichenstein Academy of Art in Halle (Saale), where she deepened her knowledge in the field of ceramics and glass design. After obtaining her diploma, she gained valuable experience in various porcelain manufactories. In 2006 she opened her own workshop in Berlin, which laid the foundation for her later venture. In 2014, she founded Feines Weisses and opened her shop and manufactory in Prenzlauer Berg. There, she works with a small but fine team of craftsmen, artists and designers to create the unique porcelain products of Feines Weisses.

In the workshop of Feines Weisses, traditional techniques merge with a clear, reduced design language. Each piece is made in a purely artisanal process, which is a clear distinction from industrial mass production. The production involves a wide range of work steps: from precise modelling in plaster to the casting of the porcelain mass and the firing processes. The final products are characterized by their individual touch, whether through hand-applied decorations or the unique texture of the material, which emphasizes the artisanal finesse and the liveliness of the porcelain.
