A seemingly endless white sandy beach, colourful tropical plants as far as the eye can see and an environment that could not have been painted more perfectly – this is what paradise must look like!

Located on the south-east coast of Mauritius, Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas offers an all-round carefree holiday with a big pinch of nature and culture. Without a doubt, one of the biggest advantages for all those who want to combine relaxing days on the beach with sporting excursions and exciting insights into local traditions is the extensive range of activities offered by the five-star hotel. What’s special is that many of Anantara’s offerings are available to hotel guests at no extra charge.

Tea and rum tasting is a great way to get a taste of the island’s culture, while a snorkeling trip on a glass-bottom boat is just a blink of an eye away. A special highlight for all foodies is the Spice Spoons cooking class, where intense red saffron and cane sugar in all nuances are waiting to be processed into curries in a wide variety of variations. And thanks to the wide variety of possibilities, it is also very easy to find the right flow with yoga, to calm down with tai chi and meditation or to stay in balance on the stand up paddle board. If you like to be active, you can hike or cycle directly from the hotel over seven kilometres to the Pont Naturel headland. There is a rocky natural bridge with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.

Recently, personalised wellness packages have been added to the wellbeing approach at Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas. Depending on your personal situation, you choose a focus such as detox, mindfulness or balance. On site, the spa team will then coordinate the individual treatments and courses, the appropriate diet and other activities, and create an individual plan designed for a five- or seven-night stay. Due to its exposed location in the Blue Bay Marine Park nature reserve on the south coast of the island and the in-house Anantara Spa, the five-star resort is ideal for sustainable deceleration and mindfulness. The new offerings include treatments from all over the world. These include, for example, Ayurvedic healing techniques for more energy and less tension, traditional hammam rituals to strengthen the immune system, and Reiki sessions to restore inner balance. For even more well-being, Thai, Balinese and Hawaiian-inspired massages are on the program. Yoga, meditation and tai chi are always included regardless of the package chosen, as well as bike tours and power walks through the tropical gardens and the nearby jungle. Another fundamental component is nutrition-conscious fine dining with organic products in the hotel’s four restaurants. This is how a paradisiacal all-round carefree holiday à la Anantara works!
