The KAT100 by UTMB® will once again attract athletes from all over the world to PillerseeTal this year. Now in its fifth year, the trail event is breaking all records and has a lot to offer for both participants and spectators.

Around 1,500 runners from 62 nations – including starters from America, Argentina, Australia, Japan, Mexico and, of course, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands – will be at the start of the KAT100 by UTMB® from 1 to 3 August.
A new record number of participants, which shows that PillerseeTal has more than established itself in the trail running scene.
For the first time, the 100-mile race, Austria’s longest ultra trail, is also almost fully booked.
Endurance, marathon and speed trails have also been full for weeks.
There are still a few starting places available for the Easy Trail.
The eight-kilometre route with “only” 243 metres of altitude difference is ideal for all those who want to gain their first racing experience.
For many participants, this distance in particular has sparked trail running fever in recent years and has not let go of it to this day.

Registration is also still open for the Kids Trail.
Depending on their age, a wide variety of distances await the little runners, who are of course rewarded for their efforts in the center of Fieberbrunn with a lot of applause.

The highlights for spectators – at the finish and along the course Spectators can also look forward to a lot of highlights at the KAT100 by UTMB®.
Fans should not miss the start of the 100-mile runners on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the center of Fieberbrunn.
On Friday from 4 p.m., the first finishers are already expected at the finish.
They have more than earned the applause of the audience!
Afterwards, at about 7.30 p.m., the official opening of the KAT100 by UTMB® will take place.
Anyone who has ever been there knows what a colourful spectacle awaits participants and spectators here.

On Saturday, the marathon runners will be sent out on the course at 7 a.m. and then the participants of the speed trail at 9 a.m.
Throughout the day, trail runners of all routes arrive at the finish line.
If you want to experience the athletes up close along the route, you can take the shuttle bus directly from the town centre to the

Lärchfilzhochalm.
Recommended hotspots are also the Wildseelodersee, the Kitzbüheler Horn or the Hahnenkamm.

In addition to the numerous sporting highlights, the spectators can also expect the best entertainment in the finish area: Live acts such as “69 in the Shade” (Thursday, 6.15 p.m.) and the band “Chaos” (Saturday, 9 p.m.), a DJ, an expo area with various exhibitors, the award ceremonies and even a bouncy castle especially for children will provide the atmosphere.

The favourites on the marathon distance Back to the sport and the favorites on the different distances.
In the Marathon Trail, the victory in the women’s race will probably lead to Laura Hampel.
The German won the speed classification at the KAT100 by UTMB® in 2023 and has set her sights on the next distance this year.
However, she has strong competition with Valérie Aresenault from Canada and Poland’s Martyna Mlynarczk, who has already won several ultras this year.

The men’s marathon starting field also has an extremely high level.
With the American Hayden Hawks, a real star of the trail scene is coming to Fieberbrunn.
The 35-year-old only caused a stir at the end of June at the legendary “Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run”, where he finished in third place just ten minutes behind the winner.
For the approximately 160 kilometers, he needed only 14:24:31 hours.

The favourites on the endurance distance It is also worth following the runners on the endurance course.
In the women’s event, everything boils down to a duel between Karola Rennhack from Germany and Michaela Pilat from Upper Austria.

The men’s list of participants is headed by Daniel Jung.
The South Tyrolean has been able to win well-known ultra trails worldwide in recent years and actually runs for victory in every race.
Tomas Macecek (CZE), Goar Lopetegui Nieto (ESP), Pierre-Emmanuel Alexandre (GER) and Stéphane Ricard (FRA) complete the international elite field.

The favorites on the 100-mile distance In the women’s supreme discipline, Sophia Schnabl from Innsbruck stands out.
She had already competed in the 100-mile course of the KAT100 by UTMB® two years ago and was able to convince with second place.
This year, of course, she wants to win.

The list of favourites in the men’s race is long: In addition to the three Austrians Gerald Fister, Bernhard Achhorner and Sepp Jetzbacher, five other elite runners will tackle the 173 kilometres and 9,900 metres of altitude difference through the Kitzbühel Alps.
They have all been part of countless ultras worldwide and have often entered their names in the winners’ lists, but in Fieberbrunn all eight are celebrating their premiere this year.
