Since 2021, Porsche and TAG Heuer have had a global partnership that celebrates the shared history and values of the brands. Once again, the two brands have joined forces and are now introducing two new limited edition timepieces.

In October, the time had come – a few days before my birthday, Porsche gave me a special gift with a special event in Paris. Frédéric Arnault (head of the French luxury empire LVMH and CEO of TAG Heuer) and Detlev von Platen (Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG) had invited to the presentation of two unique TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition watches. In the run-up to the event, a road trip in the countryside of Paris took place, during which these dreamlike photos were taken.

The stops included the Palace of Versailles as well as the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Palace of Baronville. Numerous Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 as well as other sports cars of the brand from Zuffenhausen could be driven.

The watches presented are a tribute to one of Porsche’s iconic models, the first 911 to be called Carrera: the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022. To mark the occasion, two one-off TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Editions are now available. They tie in with the characteristic features of the 1972 sports car and the 1963 chronograph that once made them timeless objects.

“The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was the first 911 with the title ‘Carrera’ and at the same time the absolute crowning glory of the Porsche model range at that time,” says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “The anniversary of this iconic sports car is the perfect occasion to launch a joint watch with our partner TAG Heuer. With them, we share the philosophy and preference for exclusive products that combine innovation and tradition.”

For more than half a century, Porsche and TAG Heuer have crossed paths. The companies are united by a common culture. CEO Frédéric Arnault transfers values to the present and the future. “The name and spirit of the Carrera are extremely meaningful and symbolic for TAG Heuer and Porsche,” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. “We wanted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the very first Porsche 911 Carrera, the legendary RS 2.7, with a watch that would express the character and strength of this groundbreaking sports car in our own signature TAG Heuer Carrera chronograph. The two timepieces we came up with together are sleek, confident and memorable. They represent an illustrious past, but also point the way to an even more exciting future, which is now open to Porsche and TAG Heuer together.”
