In the middle of the picturesque mountaineering village of Kreuth, nestled between the imposing Wallberg and the gentle shores of Lake Tegernsee, lies the TegernseerLand natural cheese dairy. In 2007, some farmers founded a cooperative with the clear intention of practicing honest and sustainable agriculture as well as producing first-class products from fresh hay milk. Thanks to this decision, customers can still enjoy delicious cheese day after day. The exquisite hay milk products feature a diverse range of flavors, ripenesses, textures, and more. But they all have one thing in common: they are made with a deep passion for the art of cheesemaking, craftsmanship and, above all, a sincere appreciation for the gifts of nature.

If you want to get to know the entire range of the natural cheese dairy and get advice from competent professionals, you should definitely visit the cheese shop. Here, customers can expect fresh organic hay milk, yoghurt, butter and, of course, many different delicious cheeses every day – seven days a week.

In addition, they have the option of putting together individual gift baskets in the store. In addition to the cheese specialities, there are also products from Werteproduzenten, an association of regional producers from the Tegernsee Schliersee Alpine region. These include delicious jams, fine chocolates, creative herbs, fair-trade coffee and Bavarian whisky.

At the TegernseerLand natural cheese dairy in Kreuth, the Gaststub’n team lovingly prepares snacks, homemade cakes and authentic dishes from the Alpine region. The cosy dining room and the spacious beer garden offer a wonderful view of the Hirschberg and the Blauberge mountains when the weather is nice.

While the adults relax and enjoy, the young guests have a lot of fun in the in-house playground. For many guests, a visit is an integral part of their activities, be it in summer after a mountain tour, hike or mountain bike excursion or in winter after cross-country skiing (the trail leads directly past the natural cheese dairy), skiing, tobogganing or a ski tour.

The master cheesemakers and their team produce all savoury cheeses, creamy yoghurts and a wide range of dairy products directly in the natural cheese dairy. In doing so, they process the precious hay milk, which is supplied by the cheese dairy farmers. All customers are cordially invited to look over the shoulders of the “Kaasers” at work and to observe the ripening process of the cheeses in their own ripening cellar.

If you book one of the interesting guided tours through the show dairy, you will immerse yourself in the fascinating world of dairy craftsmanship and experience how food is produced far away from industrial mass production. The scent, texture, colour and taste of the transformation from bright white hay milk to delicious cheese can be experienced up close here.
