At one of the most idyllic places on the lake, the Tegernsee fishery presents a selection of delicious fish dishes in its bistro. Here, guests can taste local fish such as char, trout, whitefish and pike, or opt for Mediterranean fish specialties such as sea bream and loup de mer. North Sea crabs, lobsters, oysters and tuna are also on the varied menu. The dishes are accompanied by carefully selected wines, regional schnapps and champagne. The location directly on the lakeshore offers a breathtaking view of the lake itself as well as the Wallberg, Leeberg, Rottach-Egern and the monastery in Tegernsee.

Since 2014, Simpert Ernst, Christoph von Preysing and Thomas Bayer have also been taking care of the fish stock in the lake and the bistro, which is located on the other side of the shore. Although this seems contradictory at first glance, it has led to the fact that the Tegernsee fishery has gained national fame.

The setting is almost picturesque: an idyllic meadow by the lake, some rustic wooden tables in front of a house with a view of the mountains in the background. And then there’s a golden bathtub emblazoned with the words “Moët & Chandon Champagne”, which can’t be missed. But guests shouldn’t be fooled. Because here everything revolves around one thing above all: excellent fish. From Tuesday to Saturday, customers have the opportunity to buy fresh fish smoked in the traditional way in the shop. The quality is top notch.
